Fashion runway showcasing international designers from Indonesia was held on the 15th March in Melbourne Museum Touring Hall. Two Indonesians under sponsorship program got the opportunity to take part in this year’s VAMFF. Show ran for about a quick 30 minutes.
First Fall/Winter collection to walk down the runway was I.K.Y.K which is also known as I Know You Know. An inspiring concept of ‘Bumi’ or earth that speaks in her design. Staying true to her concept of sustainable fashion, her signatures are oversized with earthy tones that is tailored for every climate.
Next up is Peggy Hartanto, a high-end womenswear label founded by three sisters. The eccentricity in style can definitely be seen in the bold and structured layers. I loved how masculinity comes into play when I see her collections strutting on the runway like they own it. This label is a growing market, which expanded to 8 countries and 3 continents and made locally in Indonesia.
